KSPEHC was called out for a leaking safety device on water heater. While tech was on site in verge issue he checked the pressure on the water heater located in the basement crawl space area. This was an inaccurate reading due to the t&p valve releasing water. The pressure reading was still 83 psi which is above maximum pressure allowed by code. Tech also noticed thermal expansion tank was rip to and leaking from connection area. At some point tape was wrapped around the connection in hopes at slowing or stopping the leak. Tech provided estimate to replace the pressure regulator on the home as well as replacing the thermal expansion tank and t&p relief valve for the water heater. At this time homeowner does not want to move forward but wants to consult with home warranty company before making any decisions. Estimate was sent to email provided.
