Upon arrival, I was greeted by Mr. Kim. He first showed me the water stain on the ceiling in the garage. The issue that he described to me is that water will leak right there Wendy, toilet in the powder room above that spot gets used. He proceeded to escort me to that powder room so that I can assess the situation. I confirmed after one flush that the toilet is causing this leak. The toilet also leaks directly from the base on the hardwood floors. No other issues were immediately noticed with the toilet during this assessment. Mr. Kim allowed me to check his water pressure and inspect the thermal expansion tank. The water pressure is within the safe range at approximately 75 psi. The thermal expansion tank had failed. I created an estimate for resetting the toilet and replacing the thermal expansion tank. I went over the details with Mr. Kim, and he agreed to the estimate. Arrived at homeowners home. Homeowner had upstairs hall bathroom toilet that was constantly running. After talking with the homeowner. I found that this issue just started to happen. After inspecting work I found that It was the fill valve that was not shutting off allowing the water level of the tank to rise above the flush valve and continuously run. I explained how the flush valve and fill valve worked to the homeowner, and explained that we would have to change out the fill valve. I also explained to the homeowner that this issue could be happening because of the pressure. I explained to the homeowner that I would have to go down to the water heater and check the pressure. I check the pressure at the bottom of the water heater and pressure was 70 psi. I explained to the homeowner that that is perfect and that he should himself should invest in a pressure gauge and check his pressure about once every 2 to 3 months. Mr Hiremath had two toilets that he said were running. The downstairs toilet I was able to adjust the fill valve and the master bathroom toilet fill valve needed to be replaced. I replaced with new fill valve and tested it. Flushes fine now and no running water.
