Came out to the Matlock residence to install a new outlet for a fridge on the other side of the wall in the pantry pulling from the original fridge.(did recommend to install a new dedicated circuit to the new fridge but Mr.Matlock decided he would do back to back instead for now and go from there.)(1 year warranty .)
Cut out old gate valve on water main and install a ball valve in its place. Rebuild upstairs shower with all new stems and seals. Replace both cold and hot water inlet hoses with hard pipe and install a thermal expansion tank on the unit to bring heater back up to code compliance. 1 year warranty Attempted to repair shower, but handles and stems were completely seized together. Did not want to risk damaging the shower any further. Replaced seats and seals in the valve to slow/control the leak. Homeowner stated they intend to demo entire bathroom in a few months. Agreed that it is not worth replacing entire shower valve at this point, but we can at least get drip under control in the meantime. Discounted $125 off of shower repair costs via coupons for not being able to swap the stems themselves.

At today’s visit, Mrs. Cox is expericing an issue with the detectors in the home. This started with the smoke detector in the Master bedroom. In the middle of the night it began to chirp. Mr. Cox disconnected the detector to get it to stop. Shortly after this, multiple other detectors began to chirp for battery replacements. Mr. Cox replaced the batteries but they still continue to chirp. Three estimates were presented. The first being replacing the detector in the master bedroom. The second estimate is for replacing with the same type of detector with replaceable batteries throughout the house as the age of the home is nearing the 7 year mark of age. The third option is to Repalce all of the detectors with 10 year worry free detectors that have built in batteries that do not need to be replaced. These estimates have been emailed as they wish to replace the individual detector in the master room themselves to see what will happen.

At today’s visit, Mr. Askren was experiencing an issue with his outside outlets not working. As Christmas is coming up, he is looking to get the Christmas lights working again. He’s previously been using an extension cord to power the lights from a receptalce in the crawl space. However the outside receptacles quit working roughly 3 years ago when he had some pressure washing done. Mr. Askren was quoted a minimum diagnostic charge to which he agreed to have the work performed. Therefore, during the diagnostic, the gfci in the garage was found to be tripped, upon resetting it, it was noted there was still no power to the outside outlets. Opening the outlet on the back porch, it was discovered that the wiring and been cut and capped off. Therefore, once the wiring was tied back through, power was restored. Given the condition of this outside outlet having mud inside the slots, it was recommended to be replaced. Mr. Askren agreed to this, therefore, the diagnostic fee was waived and the ou

KSPEHC was called out for unknown leak in the home. On arrival homeowner stated the water spraying was able to be heard clearly. City was able to get water turned off last night. During inspection tech was able to determine that the exposed water was coming from the washing machine itself. After being able to isolate by turning off washing machine shut off valves. Once these were turned off the water no longer sprayed out. The spraying water was unable to be seen due to it being an internal washing machine issue. Tech recommended homeowner contact manufacturer or appliance repair company to investigate further.

Upon arrival customer claimed he had a leak going on , on some work we have done in the past, after checking it out I saw a very, very small drip coming from the cpvc plastic male thread. Since work was still under warranty, I did not charge customer at all. I put in a cpvc brass male thread and redid about a foot of piping . I did have to glue so after making the last connection I waited 45 minutes for glue to dry before turning water on after the 45 minutes were up. I turned water on to test. No leaks were seen. I didn’t check the pressure at the water heater and pressure was at 60 psi Thank you for choosing keep smiling plumbing.
